Boise Cascade goes live with grade costing system from EPS
Enterprise Performance Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of innovative cost management solutions to the process manufacturing industry, announces the successful implementation of its EPS Product Cost Management system with paper products manufacturer, Boise Cascade, L.L.C. Boise implemented EPS Product Cost Management as a replacement to its legacy grade costing system in order to obtain more accurate and timely costing data, consolidate to a central system, and reduce IT support costs.
Installed in four Boise paper mills, located in Wallula, Wash., Jackson, Ala., International Falls, Minn., and St. Helens, Ore., EPS Product Cost Management will provide the manufacturer with centralized recipe management, standard and actual costing, cost forecasting, and support for profit optimization modeling. With these advanced capabilities, Boise anticipates increased accuracy and timeliness of decision support data, improved efficiency in managing recipes and price lists, and enhanced profitability forecasting. Additional benefits will come from time and cost savings driven by a centralized system that is easier for IT and accounting personnel to maintain.

UPM-Kymmene’s Kymi mill goes live with TietoEnator’s product cost management system
TietoEnator has finalized the implementation of its product cost management system at UPM-Kymmene’s Kymi mill in Kuusankoski, Finland. Product cost management system is part of TietoEnator Integrated Paper Solution (TIPS) product family, a comprehensive business and manufacturing execution solution for the pulp, paper, board and tissue industries. Product cost management system has been implemented as a part of UPM-Kymmene’s global initiative to harmonize its cost management process across all mills.
TIPS Product Cost Management supports the Kymi mill’s entire production process – from pulping, paper making and offline coating to internal and external converting. The system is also being used for recipe and specification management, make or buy decisions for pulp, and cost and material consumption forecasting based on the mill production schedule. The implementation at the Kymi mill follows a successful pilot at the Kajaani mill. Currently two other UPM-Kymmene mills are in the progress of implementing the system.

SCA Publication Papers in Ortviken goes live with Enterprise Performance Solutions’ Real-Time Costing

The project has been delivered with support from TietoEnator. After a short, three month implementation, two paper machines were successfully brought on-line.
